Twitter users can always be relied on to provide humor on various occassions -- be it sporting events, presidential addresses or, as seen on Tuesday, the Met Gala.

Users took to social media to poke fun at some of the more outlandishly dressed celebrities, in particular Kim Kardashian's all black ensemble.

The Met Gala is an annual event usually held in May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York but this year, it was postponed till September because of Covid.

As Vogue reported, this year's gala was "in celebration of the Costume Institute’s newest exhibition, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” which opens to the public in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18."

The event is a star-studded one where all eyes are on fashion -- the hits and misses.

This year was no different.

Some users highlighted the plus-sized models whose presence was welcome.

While others asked about those who were missing?

Democratic senator Alexandria Cortez, known as AOC, was a particular favorite for her choice of dress but not everyone was convinced.

Glenn Greenwald weighed in on the criticism around AOC's dress and the Met Gala in general.

Lil Nas was also a subject of debate for his bold choice of gold outfit.
