Nearly two years after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday filed charges against Rhea and her brother Shovik for being allegedly involved in a drug case.

Special public prosecutor Atul Sarpande said that the prosecution maintains the charges against all the accused, like those mentioned in the charge sheet submitted before the court, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI).

He requested the court to charge Rhea and Shovik for drug use, purchase, possession and financing of banned substances for Sushant.

Special Judge VG Raghuvanshi had fixed July 12 for the hearing.

In August 2020, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) retrieved deleted WhatsApp data from the actor’s phone and had reportedly discovered information showing that Rhea was talking about drugs to some people.

Since Sushant’s death, the names of many Bollywood actors have surfaced in the case and NCB has been probing the alleged drug use in the entertainment industry as well.
