Varun Dhawan commended Abrar-ul-Haq for his iconic song Nach Punjaban, claiming that the music company T-Series has bought the rights for the song.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Varun praised Abrar for singing the song “so well”.

“I want to say to Abrar that he sang the song so well. The original one is amazing, outstanding and we loved it,” said the student of the year actor

“Our music company, they bought the rights and now our song is doing so well, so thank you,” he added

The recreated version has been sung by Gippy Grewal, Zahrah S Khan, Tanishk Bagchi and Romy. Abrar has officially been credited for the original on YouTube.

Abrar on the other hand had tweeted last month, “I have not sold my song ‘Nach Punjaban’ to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like Karan Johar should not use copy songs. This is my sixth song being copied which will not be allowed at all.”
