PIA celebrated Babar Azam's birthday in the skies as the skipper was en route to Dubai with the cricket squad.

Azam turned 27 on Friday.

"Ladies and gentlemen, en route to Dubai, this is of immense [pleasure] to announce that, at the height of 36,000 feet, we are celebrating the birthday of the captain of the Pakistan team, Babar Azam," the flight attended announced.

Pakistan Cricket Board posted a video of the celebration on its Twitter feed.

Fans took to Twitter to wish the skipper on his birthday on Friday.

In an online press conference from Dubai on Saturday, Azam spoke about representing Pakistan at a major ICC event as a skipper, saying how proud he is to represent the country.

Pakistan won the T20 Wold Cup in 2009 and he hoped to recreate that magic again.
