The first trailer of the Netflix Original Series ‘Resident Evil’ is out. Starting off with the famous 1971 pop song “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony),” the trailer shows the story jumping between timelines in modern-day New Racoon City and London in the year 2036.

The plot is kept under wraps, but the trailer shows that Jade and her sister move to a new city with their father, where they find out the secrets her father and the Umberella Corporation are hiding.

Ahad Raza Mir took to Instagram to share the trailer, with a caption saying, “Nothing eventful ever happens in the peaceful New Racoon City.”

However, Mir can not be seen in the trailer. The Pakistani star announced a poster in March to announce his role in the Netflix original. The eight-episode series is set to release in July 2022.

The series is based on the long-running survival horror franchise Resident Evil, originating from games created by Capcom, a Japanese video game developer and publisher.

The cast includes Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, one of the leads from the original game series. Tamara Smart and Ella Balinska appear as different versions of Wesker’s daughter Jade.

The rest of the cast includes Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.

The franchise previously premiered its animated Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness on Netflix last year in July.
